Day 24: Favorite Fire Type

So, as I stated before, I won't be reusing subjects so I couldn't just draw Cyndaquil again. That being said, out of all my favorite Fire types, I had to give the spotlight to Camerupt. Another member of my Emerald Nuzlocke team, Camerupt was chosen over Magcargo as it could take hits better as a Numel than the Slugma could, and it quickly became a dominant force in my team, immediately proving its worth against Flannery not long after I caught the Numel.

That aside, I've always liked its design, and I think it has a cool Mega Evolution too. Plus the shiny goes from red to black, and I think it's awesome. Even cooler when it's a Mega and it has one big volcano on its back. All the same though, I love Camerupt. It's always come through for me when I needed it most.

Day 23: Favorite Flying Type

Besides accidentally making its legs thick, I'm pretty happy with how this drawing came out, especially the small touch of adding bloodshot eyes and a sweat drop. But as I'm sure you all know, I really love using Dodrio, especially before the physical/special split and when Normal type attacks were always physical. Tri-Attack was a monstrous attack back then, let me tell you. But just in general, it's a fun Pokémon to use and I love how lively it is. I love the personality of the 3 heads, and how each one seems to be a little bit different than the other two. It's silly, but I love it.

Also, it can learn Fly, so.. let that sink in a bit.

Day 22: Favorite Water Type

So this was a hard choice since I couldn't just default to Swampert since I drew Mudkip already. It basically came between Greninja and Primarina, and even though I used Greninja a lot in my many, many hours of playing Pokémon Y, I still enjoy Primarina a bit more. It's just really adorable and it's the evolution that I think Popplio deserved the most. I always felt bad about Popplio since everyone seemed to unanimously dislike it, sort of like when Oshawott was first revealed with Snivy and Tepig. But of course, once its final evolution was shown, everyone changed their minds. I always liked Oshawott, and Popplio, though. Popplio was a small, adorable seal, what's not to love? It was always smiling and looking happy, and Brionne and Primarina also show this. Primarina is one of those Pokémon you didn't expect (except we did, because.. you know.. Chinese Leaks) but you fell in love with the moment you saw it. It's just a fun Pokémon with a Water/Fairy typing and it manages to look cute while kicking ass, too. It's just an all-around fun Pokémon and I love it a lot.

Day 21: Favorite Dragon Type

Honestly it wasn't even tough to pick Altaria since I've used it the most out of any other Dragons, besides Dragonite and Goodra, but I always liked Altaria more and have always liked using it more. And as always, it's a very adorable Pokémon, and it's fluffy. Even more so when it received a Mega Evolution, which made it even more fluffy and cute, and also added Fairy typing to it, making it immune to Dragon moves and being able to take on Dark and Fighting types with more ease.

Honestly it's just a fun Pokémon and I love having it on my team whenever I get the change to catch it, whether it's going through Hoenn again, or in some other team in some other game.

Day 20: Favorite Electric Type

So, really, the choice came down to Dedenne or Pachirisu. As much as I love Dedenne, I've hardly ever used it, save for being on a team I did in Pokémon Y. Pachirisu has more history with me since it's the literal reminder of the start of a friendship I have with the friend I mention often, the one who made her own Fakemon region. If I'm remembering right, Pachirisu was one of the adorable Pokémon I showed to her to give her interest in the series, and it eventually went on to become her favorite, much like Cyndaquil is for me. I think Popplio has taken its place since then, but Pachirisu still has a nice place in my favorites, not just for being adorable, but for also starting a great friendship with a silly friend.

Day 19: Favorite Ice Type

Considering I chose Dewgong over Cryogonal and Froslass, I must love it a lot. But then again, I have better memories of Dewgong than I do of Cryogonal and Froslass. It's just really cute and I love how helpful its been anytime I've used it in a team, especially the last times I've been using it in recent teams. It really has managed to take on some tough foes.

And honestly, as we all know by this point, I am just an absolute sucker for all things adorable, so I guess that really helps a lot too, because seals and sea lions are very cute.

Day 18: Favorite Rock Type

So, I'm pretty awful at drawing.. I guess, generalized, 4-legged animals. I've done decently with Umbreon and Leafeon, and Eevee came out pretty okay, even though I needed some sort of reference. And even though I needed a reference for Lycanroc (Since I'd never be able to draw a sitting dog by memory alone) I still feel like I didn't do so well, but I tried my best, so that's what matters.

Even though I was very tempted to use Archeops as the subject, I just couldn't deny that I love dogs, and that Rockruff and Lycanroc both made me super excited for Sun and Moon, enough to guarantee that Lycanroc had a spot on my team without a second thought. I love this puppy and I love its new Dusk Form that it gets in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as well, even if it's only for the event Rockruff.

Day 17: Favorite Ghost Type

So, despite that I like Cofagrigus and Trevenant an awful lot, nothing can compare with, well, this big ol' anchor. I don't know what it was about it, but as soon as I saw Dhelmise in the leaks, I basically had the same reaction as Palossand, stating, "It's an anchor! I love it!"

Honestly, had I not picked Lurantis or Palossand for my first Sun team, I might have grabbed a Dhelmise to end off my team when I had finally reached Seafolk Village. But there's something else pretty awesome about it.

From the Sun Pokedex entry: "Swinging its massive anchor, it can KO Wailord in a single blow." Seriously, a Pokémon of that size being taken out in one hit from Dhelmise? That's pretty awesome, if you ask me. I guess I also just find the idea of an anchor pretty cool. And I love its shiny, with the seaweed turning red and stuff, it's awesome!

Day 16: Favorite Fighting Type

As much as I love Breloom and Bewear, Scrafty takes my top spot thanks to HoodlumScrafty on YouTube and because it's just really cool-looking and also part Dark type. But besides all of that, I've always had fond memories of having Scrafty on my first team in Pokémon White and have had fun using it in teams since, watching it demolish Pokémon thanks to its awesome Moxie ability. Pants lizard is just really fun, honestly.

Also, the background is kind of hasty on purpose, but since Scrafty has red, orange, and yellow going on, I did a bit of green, blue, and purple to have those complimentary colors going, cause I'm pretty sure I've mentioned how much I love complimentary colors.

Day 15: Favorite Normal Type

So now we're down to the wire, doing all my favorite types (and to add to the prompt list, I'll be doing the 3 types that aren't on that list either: Bug, Poison, and Steel) and ending it off with a favorite Mega Evolution and a Favorite Legendary. But anyways...

You've all seen my "Favorite Pokémon" series I did a while back, where I did my 18 favorite Pokémon in each region up to Alola. I'm sure that once generation 8 arrives, I'll be doing a whole list for that as well. But out of the 7 Normal types I love the most (Eevee, Furret, Exploud, Porygon-Z, Cinccino, Furfrou, and Silvally), I love Eevee the most. it's just small, cute, fluffy, it's got pretty much everything I love wrapped up into a tiny creature. I love that it gets its own Z-Move, which could make it a serious threat if it's not taken care of. And with the ability to potentially use two Z-Moves in one battle in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, imagine how powerful Eevee could get with 2 Extreme Evoboosts. Scary stuff right there.

But all the same, Eevee is adorable, it's fun, and I can't wait to eventually have a shiny Eevee to call my own one day.

Day 14: Favorite Pokemon When I First Heard of the Series

So, apologies in advance, I'm just going to be drawing simplified pictures from now on. The shading and background detail have been making my wrist hurt and have been taking longer than they need to be taking. So it's just going to be flat color and mainly flat backgrounds now, just wanted to give a heads up.
Anyways, I don't have any accurate memory of my first favorite Pokémon, but I know I had a Squirtle plush when I was younger, and I also really liked Ash's Squirtle in the anime, so we'll go on a whim and just say that my first favorite was Squirtle. To be fair, out of the Kanto trio, it's my 2nd favorite. I do like Charmander and all, but I just think it and its evolution line is a bit too overrated. So, to symbolize that I liked Ash's Squirtle a lot, I drew Squirtle with the silly Squirtle Squad glasses.

Day 13: Myself as a Trainer with a Partner Pokemon

As if it wouldn't be painfully obvious, you know? But I just drew my character from Pokémon Sun, since that's the closest and best one, in my opinion. But without sounding too much like a broken record, I love Cyndaquil, and I most likely always will, and it'll always hold a special place in my heart, and it's a really, really adorable little Pokémon, too.

Disney Universe Trophy Guide

Welcome to the trophy guide for Disney Universe! This wacky game has a relatively simple trophy list so if you want a game that's going to be more stress-free than some of the other games we've talked about, you're in luck this time! Let's go!

Platinum Universe! Collect all other trophies!
As usual, nab all the other trophies to collect this shiny new platinum for your collection!

Saviour of the Universe! Complete all of the worlds.

Champion of the Universe Get a Gold Grade for all worlds.
You'll need to go through each level twice, as it's not possible to get a Gold on your first run through a level, as you must save a 2nd guest. But to add to it, collect every coin you can, do HEX challenges, and die as little as possible, if not dying at all. Once every single level, in every world, has a Gold Grade, you're good to go.

Collector Collect all of the World Collectables within one level.
See Compulsive Collector.

Serious Collector Collect all of the World Collectables within a location.

World Set Complete! Collect all of the World Collectables within a world.
See Compulsive Collector.

Compulsive Collector Collect all of the World Collectables in the game.
Each level in the game has collectibles. Most are in plain sight, but others are a bit more tricky to find. In the case of boss rooms, definitely wait until you've defeated the boss first, as the guest won't be freed until you manually free them, giving you a chance to explore and look around with the pressure of a boss adding to your stress. After collecting them all, this trophy is yours.

Suit Up! Purchase a costume.
See Dressed for Success!

Dressed for Success! Purchase all of the costumes.
Costumes are unlocked as you play through the game. Just keep playing the game and collect all the coins you can. Since you need 2 playthroughs, technically, this shouldn't be a hassle by the time you reach your 2nd run through each level.

Four Star Costume! Fully upgrade a costume.
See Ultimate Cosmic Power!

World of Hurt! Fully upgrade all of a world's costumes.
See Ultimate Cosmic Power.

Ultimate Cosmic Power! Fully upgrade all of the costumes in the game.
In each level is a chest that needs a key in order to be unlocked.. Upon opening this chest, a star will come out, allowing you to upgrade your costume by means of giving you a new weapon that deals more damage. Every costume has 4 stars, so once every costume gets 4 stars, you're all done.

Challenge Addict Play 50 Challenges.
See For The Win!

For The Win! Win 50 Challenges.
In each level you'll find a HEX arcade cabinet at some point. Simply play them as you go and try your best to win each one. Through your 2 playthroughs of each level, you'll do more than 50 Challenges, so keep on trying!

The Bigger They Are... Defeat the Brute.
Story related, can't be missed.

Dizzy! Defeat Roto.
Story related, can't be missed.

Time for a Diet! Defeat the Spawner.
Story related, can't be missed.

Bad Dog! Defeat the Bulldog.
Story related, can't be missed.

Gold Hoarder Store 1,000 coins in the bank.
See Richer than a McDuck!

Richer than a McDuck! Store 10,000 coins in the bank.
Just keep on collecting coins. If you want to make this easier, don't purchase a single costume until you've reached 10,000 coins, then feel free to purchase away.

Along for the Ride Complete a level in multiplayer.
See All Together Now!

All Together Now! Complete a level with 4 players.
This requires 4 controllers to do, so if you don't have 3 more, then I'm sorry to say you're out of luck for this. Otherwise, just finish any level with 4 players, even if you're the one using all 4 controllers.

Playing to Win! Defeat 5 players in a single level.
See To Infinity... and Beyond!

To Infinity... and Beyond! Defeat another player by throwing them.
In a multiplayer game, press Triangle to pick up another player, then throw them into a pit. Do this 5 times to get this trophy and Playing to Win! in one fell swoop.

Keep 'Em Coming! Defeat 100 enemies.
See Anti-Virus!

Anti-Virus! Defeat 500 enemies.
Virtually not possible to miss considering all the enemies you'll be defeating during your 2 playthroughs.

Giddy Up! Defeat an enemy whilst riding an animal.
Self-explanatory, just defeat any enemy while riding any animal and this is yours.

Freeze! Defeat 5 enemies using a single Snowman power-up.
You'll easily get these trophies while doing HEX Challenges.

Boxing Clever Defeat 5 enemies using a single Power Punch power-up.
See Freeze!

Bad Hair Day Defeat 5 enemies using a single Medusa power-up.
See Freeze!

Rapid Fire Defeat 5 enemies using a single Shooter power-up.
See Freeze!

Tag! You're it! Transfer a curse to another player.
While playing, a HEX Cube will appear sometimes and try to hit you. If it touches you, you'll be cursed. While in a multiplayer game, simply run into someone else while you're cursed to transfer the curse to them.

Unstoppable! Complete a level without respawning.
Self-explanatory, just beat the simple first level without dying once. Piece of cake.

Old School Complete a level without using help arrows.
Go to the Options menu and disable the help arrows. Once you finish the very first level and nab this trophy, I suggest you turn 'em back on, as they become incredibly useful as you progress!

And that's all for this trophy guide! A lot of stuff stacks/has easily-reached goals, so this list shouldn't be difficult for you. However, if you lack 4 controllers, you'll be stuck with only a single trophy left like I was for a while. Anyways, thanks for reading this quick guide and I hope it helps you get closer to another platinum!

*This game took me a total of 3 years and 1 month to complete, following a sort-of hiatus when I couldn't obtain the 4 player trophy. My first trophy was "Giddy Up!" which was achieved on February 28th, 2014 at 9:22 PM. My final trophy was "All Together Now!" which was achieved on April 19th, 2017 at 5:56 PM, along with the platinum, "Platinum Universe!" This platinum trophy is the 58th platinum trophy I have received.*

Day 12: A Pokemon I HATE Battling In-game

So, as you're all well-aware, Kingdra is one of my favorite Pokémon, actually. I love its simple, but cool design, and I love the power it commands. However, due to its few weaknesses, Dragon and Fairy, it can be pretty rough. However, it's not just any Kingdra I'm talking about.

I'm talking about Clair's Kingdra during your Johto quest. Everybody talks about how Whitney's Miltank was such a troubling opponent but I hardly ever see anyone mention how rough Clair's battle can be. Sure, if you pick Totodile, then Feraligatr can easily take on her Dragons with Ice moves, and in the remakes, it can easily just use Ice Fang on them. But let's take a step back for a moment.

Dragon was only weak to Ice and Dragon back then, before Fairy came along. Take way the Ice weakness thanks to the part Water typing and all that's super effective against Kingdra is Dragon moves. Ice would be neutral, but still, it's almost never enough. And your options are severely limited. In the preceding Ice Path, you only have access to Swinub, which can evolve into Piloswine (which can then evolve into Mamoswine if you're doing the remakes and have patience), Delibird, which needs to be taught Ice Beam or Blizzard to be helpful, Jynx, or you have to amass 2100 coins in Goldenrod's Game Corner to get a Dratini, and even then it'll only be Dragonair by the time you face Clair.

For comparison, for Whitney's Miltank, I always come ready with the Onix given to you in Violet City in exchange for a Bellsprout. Thanks to Onix's amazing Defense and its resistance to Rock type attacks, the Miltank can't really harm Onix other than using Attract on it. But Onix is only there to stall, using Screech to destroy Miltank's Defense so that another attacker can come and destroy it quickly. Whitney almost never gives me an issue anymore because of that, but I'm almost never ready for Clair because of this Kingdra.

Disney Universe

So, today and tomorrow have a rare 2nd post treatment due to the challenge and trophy guide stuff. I meant to put this up earlier but I sort of forgot. My bad. Anyways, The winner of the poll was 58, as a friend who didn't vote in the poll broke the tie and chose 58, so here we are. This is a weird premise, though. Nameless characters dressing up as Disney characters and going through levels based on Disney movies. It's fun, nonetheless, and it offers a fun game for solo players or multiplayer lovers alike. It's also pretty easy, so it's not like you're going to have a rough time going through the game.

I enjoyed going through all the levels and playing as different "characters" and seeing how their weapons evolve through powering them up, and just seeing all these Disney locales that are so familiar to longtime fans. It's definitely worth a try, and I believe that there's a demo on the PSN Store, so you can always give it a shot if you'd like to try before you buy. I'll see ya tomorrow for the trophy guide.

Day 11: Favorite Eevee Evolution

Since I drew Leafeon already, and I won't repeat subjects, I drew my 2nd favorite, Umbreon. It was my favorite until Leafeon took the spot. Umbreon also reminds me of my best friend since his favorite Pokemon - that I'm aware of - is Umbreon. Also, I put many stars. It was fun.

Dark has always been my favorite type, and Umbreon always looked awesome to me. Pokémon Colosseum was also a nice influence to make me like Umbreon more, as you start with one and an Espeon, and in its sequel, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, you start with an Eevee and have the ability to gain an evolution stone, or a Sun/Moon Shard, early on to influence Eevee's evolution later on (The Sun and Moon Shards were held by Eevee and would evolve it once its happiness was high enough, and were exclusive to Pokémon XD). Either way, I've always loved Umbreon, even if Leafeon took my number 1 spot. Umbreon is still a very close 2nd.

Day 10: Creepy Pokemon

So, to understand this completely, you need to know any of Phantump's Pokedex entries. To quote Pokémon Sun's Pokedex entry: "These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. Their cries sound like eerie screams." That's some spooky stuff right there.

So, I drew a shiny Phantump, because it was the very first shiny I got through Masuda Method egg-hatching after I received the Shiny Charm in Pokémon Y, and because I had tried so hard for a shiny Phantump before the Masuda Method, I wanted to playfully test my luck with the Shiny Charm. Well, 23 eggs later and boom! Shiny Phantump! I really don't know why I put kind of faded eyes in the knothole but I felt like it added to the creepy factor a little. I don't know, it seemed to work for me.

Day 9: Baby Pokemon

I'm a bit late, I apologize, I was out shopping and then I finished up the next prompt. So out of all the baby Pokémon I like Chingling the most. It's just really adorable and drawing it feels like you're drawing Kirby, honestly. And the background was simplistic because I felt a baby Pokémon theme should have something simplistic, you know? All the same, I love it.

Day 8: Least Favorite Pokemon

Believe it or not, it was hard even deciding on Bruxish for this, as I generally like all the Pokémon that GAME FREAK has given us with the Pokémon series. After some thought, and trying to figure out what Pokémon makes me go "Uggghhhhhh" the most, or the one that makes me go "*sigh* This one..." or something like that. Bruxish would up being that particular one, after some thought.

Bruxish was quickly liked by an ex-friend of mine, who stopped being my friend a year ago at this point. They were a wonderful friend who spent a long time being in my life and I'm still kind of bummed that we're not friends anymore, but I just have to keep facing forward and just tell myself, "It's their loss." Generally, seeing Bruxish reminds me of them, and I just... really don't like Bruxish. When it was first revealed, it was probably the only Pokémon that I said "Uhhh...." about.

As far as the picture goes, since it was underwater, I wanted to have the lighting and a couple of Pokémon in the background. I kind of messed up with the underwater lighting but I think I did well drawing Bruxish, and adding a little Luvdisc and Alomomola in the background.

Day 7: Favorite Grass Starter

I feel like I could have done this background better but ah well. So, as mentioned before, Oshawott was going to originally be my choice for Unova, but my girlfriend (at the time) and I had broken up recently before Black and White was released. not wanting to be reminded of her, I opted to go for my 2nd choice, Snivy. And despite the new decision, I was very pleased, surprised, and happy with how Snivy, Servine, and Serperior were in battle and how strong they could be. And naturally, I just really love how smug and cocky Snivy looks, but it adds to its personality. Whatever the case, I'm always ready to take my Grass snake on another adventure through my 2nd favorite region.

Day 6: Favorite Water Starter

As I've stated before, and even if it makes me sound like some sort of hipster, I loved Mudkip before the popular meme even existed. I mentioned before that when I first played the GBA games - Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald - I somehow chose my starter based on the color of the game, without even noticing it. My first game was Sapphire and I chose Mudkip, then I got Ruby and I used Torchic, then when I got Emerald, despite wanting to use Mudkip again, I had to use Treecko, as it wouldn't be fair to have all 3 titles, but not use all 3 starters. And while Treecko did quickly become totally awesome in my eyes, Mudkip still held a lot of love, as well as incredible usefulness.

For starters, it's pretty handy in early game, where it can easily wipe out Roxanne, and stand up to Brawly, as well as completely wreck Wattson due to Mashstomp's Water/Ground typing that makes Electric attacks worthless. It goes on to be great against Flannery and against Tate and Liza, and is an easy candidate for using Surf on, so you can venture around Hoenn's vast ocean with ease.

Plus, Mudkip's just really adorable. Sadly, though, I wouldn't be getting its shiny anytime soon, I'm not a fan of the bright purple-pink color that it turns into, along with the rest of the evolution line. Nothing against the color, but Mudkip looks better as blue and orange.

Day 5: Favorite Fire Starter

So, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, especially if you've seen the several times I've talked about Cyndaquil over the last year. As such, I won't go into huge detail about why it's special to me, but you can always look back in the archive posts to find reasons in the "Favorite Johto Pokémon" and "Cyndaquil and Why It's Special to Me" posts, as well as read the short story on my favorite Pokémon, "Cinders".

I don't think I did the fire too well, or the grass with bits of blue going through them, but I don't think I did too bad either. I'm pretty happy with this, and it's just another cute little picture of my favorite buddy in any Pokémon adventure. I love ya, Cinders, I'm very glad that you're my favorite.

Day 4: Favorite 7th Gen Pokemon

So, as stated originally, there are things not on that prompt list that I want to do. The inclusion of gen 7 is something that I needed to do because of my love for Alola. Getting to the point, expect more than just 30 pictures, naturally. Anyways, going with the trend of favorite Pokémon that are not starters, I think it was clear that I had to draw Lurantis. While I do love Rockruff/Lycanroc a whole lot, especially since I love dogs, nothing can beat the fact that Lurantis was definitely a Pokémon I was extremely happy with from day 1, both during its reveal, and when I finally caught it as a Fomantis. While a Fomantis, it defeated the Totem Wishiwashi AND its Alomomola backup singlehandedly. It tanked hits and it defeated them both alone, which was amazing.

I'm not sure why I chose to so a sunset, but I'm very happy that I did, I think I did amazing on this. I've never done shading with the light focused behind the subject, but I was told that I did pretty well for my first attempt on that sort of shading so I'll take it. I was going to add Comfey here, just for the sake of having a lei, but I decided against it since Lurantis by itself was looking so nice. Thanks for making me love Alola even more, Lurantis.

Day 3: Favorite 5th and 6th Gen Pokemon

I know it's pretty dark, so I apologize there, however I outlined them in white to hopefully make them stand out against the background, since there's a lot of dark red and black going on here. Anyways, I knew that Aegislash would be my choice for Kalos, but since Unova holds a lot of my favorites, and picking out 16 favorites was hard enough, this was a tough choice, but ultimately I had the idea to make the Aegislash shiny, since I have a shiny Honedge and will have a shiny Aegislash soon enough. And to add to the red and black theme (they're my favorite colors), I used Zoroark. Originally I considered Golurk, but the idea of Golurk holding Aegislash like a sword and shield is.. overdone, and the idea of using the Honedge line in general is overused, too. But oh well, even if it's overused a bit, it's still an awesome concept for a generally awesome Pokémon. My shading on Aegislash certainly needs work though, but I'll get there eventually. Also, funny enough, Aegislash's "arms" are literally the best "arms and hands" I've ever drawn. Isn't that silly?

Day 2: Favorite 3rd and 4th Gen Pokemon

Believe it or not, picking Sableye and Leafeon was actually a tough choice. I like a lot of my faves from Hoenn and Sinnoh, but ultimately I couldn't resist my favorite Eeveelution, or my favorite little goblin. I always loved Sableye from the moment I first encountered it in Granite Cave in the GBA games, and always loved when I could use one. And Leafeon has always been my favorite once I loved it more than I love Umbreon. This is supposed to be a forest with the Moss Rock behind them, sort of based on Eterna Forest in Sinnoh, but I know it could use some work. Nonetheless, I'm extremely proud of this drawing and I hope the other pieces of art come out at least half as nice!
