Jak II Trophy Guide

Welcome to the trophy guide for Jak II! This game is simple enough to platinum, but Jak II isn't as easy as the first game, but let's get right into it and start nabbing some trophies!
Done Done Done For excellent and dedicated field work in the field of battle for completion.
You know the drill, nab all the trophies and this is yours.

Poor Kid Protect Kor and Kid.
Really simple first mission after the tutorial, just keep fighting until you turn into Dark Jak, then continue to fight until everyone is defeated.

Dead and Gone Retrieve Banner from Dead Town.
More or less, this mission has you doing some generally normal platforming while also fighting some enemies. Just reach the top of the area and take your time with your platforming.

Kaboom! Blow up Ammo at Fortress.
You'll receive this shortly after outrunning the tank inside the building.

Signature Moves Protect Sig at Pumping Station.
Generally not a tough mission, for the most part, but since you're limited to your Scattergun, you have to be careful. Also, if you use your spin or punch attacks too closely to Sig, he'll take damage and he'll retaliate, so be careful. Your main threats are the enemies who appear when Sig is charging his gun to kill the Metal Heads.

Turrets Syndrome Destroy Turrets in Sewer.
The turrets are easy to destroy, just make sure to jump and avoid the fire as they shoot at you. Otherwise this is a simple mission.

Stripped Down Rescue Vin at Strip Mine.
Another generally easy mission, just making your way to where Vin is located while fighting Metal heads. Just take your time and keep your eyes peeled for Metal Heads, you wouldn't want to get surrounded and lose health because a Metal Head hit you from behind when you weren't looking.

Over Easy Destroy Eggs at Drill Platform.
As you progress through the Drill Platform, you'll enter turret stations to destroy Metal Head eggs attached to the walls. You'll do this roughly 3-4 times as you progress, and you'll have to shoot down airborne Metal Heads as you go about it as well. Just make sure to watch your shields and also make sure you don't overheat the gun by accident as it could cost you some shields or even make you have to restart the whole mission if you're not careful.

Cha-ching Collect Money for Krew.
Not too difficult if you're good with evading constant Krimson Guards chasing you around. However, you're also on a time limit, so you have to drive fast, evade decently, and try your best not to let your Zoomer explode, so be careful.

Lost and Found Find Pumping Station Patrol.
The missing is simple enough, but once you reach Ashlyn, you have to take on a small army of Metal Heads with her. If you happen to have a Dark Jak handy, you can use it and it'll help you clear out some of the Metal Heads, if not all/the rest of the ones attacking you.

Just the Artifacts Ma'am Find 3 Artifacts in Mountain Temple.
You'll get this shortly after you have a small trek around the area to find the artifacts.

More Power to You Turn on 5 Power Switches.
You'll obtain this trophy shortly after completion of the mission.

Skip the Stairs Ride Elevator up to Palace.
You'll get this not long before you face the Baron for the first time at the Palace.

Don't Let Him Get Away Defeat Baron at Palace.
To be honest, this fight can easily be boiled down to your dodging skills. If you're good at dodging the Baron's attacks, and make sure you're not getting hit often, you can easily just unload bullets onto him and you'll eventually whittle him down. It goes without saying, but Blaster is your best bet for the good range and offensive capabilities, plus if you do a spin while in the air, then fire, you can shoot rapidly, although it's in a circle and not focused directly on the Baron himself. Regardless, keep unloading on him, you'll get him eventually.

Scout's Honor Catch Scouts in Haven Forest.
This mission might be tough if you're not experienced with the Jet Board yet, but regardless, the area is open and you have room to practice. You have to chase the Scouts while on the Jet Board, and because they always move faster than you, you have to cut some corners and do some spins in order to catch up. Once you get very close to one, you'll automatically tackle them and kill them. But hey, at least this area has one of the most catchy tracks in the whole game (when you're on the board).

Kersplash! Destroy Equipment at Dig.
You'll obtain this not long after you destroy the huge drill in the Dig, just be sure to have a decent grip on your Jet Board grinding.

Speeding Slowly Win Class 3 Race at Stadium.
Your Zoomer controls like any other Zoomer you can pick up, except there's no transitioning between high and low zones, and it's replaced with the ability to hop and boost. This is generally an easy race, once you learn how to properly control your Zoomer and take advantage of the shortcuts in the race. Always be sure to use the brake on tough corners so you don't crash into a wall. Remember, like any other Zoomer, it can only take so much abuse before it explodes and you lose.

Strip Mine, Not Yours Blow up Eco Wells in Strip Mine.
Hopefully you know your way around the Strip Mine and also have a decent grasp on using the Jet Board. You're under a sort-of tight time limit, but after a few tries, you'll get this done in no time. Take your first few attempts learning the area and planning out your route before you attempt to dunk the bombs into the wells, especially since you need the speed to get high enough.

Sunken Ship Destroy Ship at Drill Platform.
This is sort of similar to destroying the eggs, but this time you're mainly facing a ship while also fighting off Krimson Guards. Just keep a steady aim and always take care of those Krimson Guards first, unless the ship is firing at you. You'd be surprised at how fast they can whittle down your shields when they're aiming together.

Clap Hands Get Seal Piece at Dig.
You'll obtain this shortly after completing the mission.

Doggin' the Hellcats Destroy 5 Hellcat Cruisers.
This means the normal mission, not whenever you want. Just wanted to clarify that in case you were confused, but I'm 100% sure that you guys already knew this. Just be careful, they're well-fortified.

No Man is a Canyon Use items in No Man's Canyon.
You'll obtain this prior to attempting the Tests of Manhood.

Testosterone Pass the Tests of Manhood.
Mainly you're just going through some rooms using only Jak, only Daxter, and then both. It's not too hard but run as fast as you can when you reach the spider. Just trust me on that, you need all the distance you can get when you're trying to bounce upwards.

Grin and Baron It Defeat Baron in Mar's Tomb.
This is similar to your battle at the Palace, but for most of the fight, he shoots bombs that you have to punch back at his mech in order to deal damage to it. Just be careful, as usual, and make sure to keep moving.

We're All Friends Here Rescue Friends at Fortress.
You'll get this one after you enter the fortress and save your friends who've been kidnapped by the Baron.

Bot Bot Boom Boom Protect Hideout from Bomb Bots.
Your best bet is to have the Vulcan ready to go, as once you get under a Bomb Bot, the rapid-fire shooting will decimate it in no time. If any Bomb Bots get too close to the Hideout, you fail the mission, so be quick and be ready to shoot.

Speed Quicker Win Class 2 Race at Stadium.
Despite only playing as Daxter this time, this plays just like Class 3, just be careful of the slightly harder difficulty of the race, and keep an eye out for shortcuts.

What's That Smell? Escort Men Through Sewers.
This mission is short, but just keep an eye out when Metal Heads swarm you all, especially in the last section. Have a Dark Jak handy for when you need it, and make sure your Vulcan or Blaster are as loaded as possible for good rapid-firing.

Timber! Destroy Drill Platform Tower.
You'll obtain this not long after you complete the mission.

Speed Speedily Win Class 1 Race in Stadium.
You'll have to keep your speed up and take whatever shortcuts you can to beat this race, especially with Errol constantly on your tail. Just keep ahead of the pack, boost when you can safely use it, and be careful with the shortcuts. You don't want to lose right near the end because of a bad boost or turn.

I Heart Heart Get Heart of Mar in Weapons Lab.
You'll obtain this not long before you face Krew.

Who Knew Krew Blew? Beat Krew in Weapons Lab.
Luckily he gives you a weapon upgrade prior to facing him, but you still have to be careful when you face him. When he sends tiny clones to face you, touching them will damage you. However, the Scattergun works best for clearing them out in a nice spread-shot fashion, and you can use the Blaster to hit him when he's back on the platform and can be attacked.

Finders Keepers Find Sig in Underport.
You'll obtain this during your escape from the Metal Head Centipede with Sig.

Heavy Distortion Attack the Metal Head Nest.
You'll collect this after using Mar's Gun to open a path to the Nest.

Pedal to the Metal Destroy Metal Kor at Nest.
This battle kind of depends on how you play and how much you love certain guns, but if you can, keep Dark Jak on standby, as a Dark Bomb (Jump, then hit Square) will deplete half of one full bar of health, so if you're struggling near the end, use it and finish him off. Otherwise, keep shooting and keep dodging the endless spawns of Metal Heads, you can do this!

Head Over Heels Collect 50 Metal Head Skull Gems.
See Head Master.

Head Cheese Collect 250 Metal Head Skull Gems.
See Head Master.

Head Master Collect 510 Metal Head Skull Gems.
When a Metal Head still has a Skull Gem, its forehead glows, and when you kill it, the Gem pops out. 510 sounds like a lot but you can farm Gems in the Metal Head Nest, especially while you're facing Metal Kor as well. Note that this is cumulative, so spent Gems are still counted for.

The Collector Collect 25 Precursor Orbs.
See The Collectionator!

The Collectivist Collect 125 Precursor Orbs.
See The Collectionator!

The Collectionator! Collect 286 Precursor Orbs.
There's a very easy way to accomplish this, and I'll let this handy video explain itself (credit to KingMoney for the video).

And that's it for the trophy guide! I know some of these are kind of half-assed, but there's not much else to say about simply beating the game to completion, then grabbing Gems and Orbs. I hope you have an easier time achieving the platinum!

*This game took me a total of 1 day and 26 minutes to complete, from my first trophy to the platinum. My first trophy was "Poor Kid" which was achieved on July 5th, 2017 at 6:38 PM. My final trophy was "Pedal to the Metal" which was achieved on July 6th, 2017 at 7:05 PM, along with the platinum, "Done Done Done." This platinum trophy is the 60th platinum trophy I have received.*
