Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy Trophy Guide

Welcome to the trophy guide for Jak and Daxter's first adventure! The trophy guide is a fairly simple one, so it shouldn't be a problem, especially if you've played this game before on PS2. Let's get straight into it, it'll be fun!

Top of the Heap You have mastered the game and collected all there is to collect!
As the description says, basically reach 100% completion to get this platinum.

Open Sez Me Open the Precursor Door.
You'll get this during your romp through Geyser Rock as the game uses this location as your tutorial for the game's controls and mechanics, so this is not possible to miss, like several of these trophies on this list.

Yee Haw! Herd the Yakows in to their Pen.
Easy to do in Sandover Village. Just whack one of the Yakows and follow behind it, whacking it every so often to keep it moving, and it will always run away from you, so just direct it into the pen. Then do it a few more times for your trophy and Power Cell.

Black Thumb Defeat the Dark Eco Plant.
The Dark Eco Plant is in the Forbidden Jungle, namely within the Forbidden Temple. Defeating it is simple, avoid its attacks and jump on the leaves it creates to hit its head. Repeat the process 2 more times, while now defeating some smaller enemies, and you're all clear.

Shiny Happy Steeples Connect the Eco Beams.
Throughout the Forbidden Jungle, you'll found towers that shoot a light beam. After finding the first one, you can aim it at another tower, and so on. Eventually you'll connect all of the beams to you can restore power to Sandover Village, where the Mayor will promptly hand you a Power Cell upon returning to him when you finish his task.

Hand Over Fish Catch 200 Pounds of Fish.
You have to complete this task in order to access Misty Island, and by extension complete this game 100%. He's below a bridge  near the main river in the jungle. He asks you to catch him 200 pounds of fish in exchange for using his speedboat to Misty Island. You are tasked with catching green (1 pound) and yellow (5 pound) fish while avoiding the toxic purple eels. If you catch even a single eel, it ruins the whole batch, AND you can't miss more than 20 pounds of fish. It's a really simple minigame and it shouldn't be that tough for you, just be ready to move left and right and watch out for those eels!

Gimmee That! Get the Power Cell from the Pelican.
As you go to reach a Power Cell on Sentinel Beach, a pelican will come and snatch it right before your eyes. Follow the pelican to its nest and give it a whack to make it spit the Cell out. But be ready to do some rolling long jumps, because the pelican is going to go back for its snack, so you have to beat it to the Power Cell. Might take you a try or two, but it's not too tough to do.

Eggs Over Hard Push the Flut Flut Egg Off the Cliff.
As a lady in Sandover Village asks you to do, there's a big egg in Sentinel Beach. After easily climbing up and over to it, she tells you to "gently" push the egg down to her. Since you are only able to shove the egg, you do so. Despite the egg breaking slightly, a Flut Flut appears from the egg, and affectionately believes that Daxter is its mama. Afterwards you get your Power Cell reward from the lady.

Pop Goes the Lurker Destroy the Balloon Lurkers.
You'll find a Zoomer near some water in a lake area in Misty Island. While you ride around to nab Precursor Orbs and a few Power Cells, you'll see Lurkers riding bikes that carry large balloons. After you chase them and bash into them to defeat them and destroy their balloons, you'll be rewarded with a Power Cell.

Tonight's Featured Event Defeat Lurker Ambush in Arena.
The Arena is the area in Misty Island where you watched the prologue, where Daxter is turned into an ottsel, and you'll be returning to that Dark Eco pool for a Power Cell, but then an ambush happens. You'll be supplied with a decent amount of Red Eco so your attacks will be stronger. It's more of an endurance thing, and you have to watch out for bombs being shot from the cannon atop the building, so watch out for those when you see them falling.

Zoom! Reach the End of Fire Canyon.
After collecting at least 20 Power Cells, you can access Keira's Zoomer in Fire Canyon so you can traverse it, as touching the fire will, as you might guess, instantly kill you. Reach the end of Fire Canyon to grab this trophy/Power Cell.

Catch as Catch Can Catch the Flying Lurkers.
In the Precursor Basin, you'll primarily use a Zoomer to make your way around the open area. You have several things to do here, so you might want to stick around for a bit. You'll see Flying Lurkers as you move around the track. You have to chase them for a while, as they'll eventually start to get tired and slow down, allowing you to ram into them and defeat them. Once you're done this task, well, you know the drill.

Green Thumb Cure Dark Eco Infested Plants.
Samos gives you this objective for the Precursor Basin. In one of the areas you'll see a bunch of purple grass near a Green Eco Vent. You have to touch the Green Eco and drive through the Dark Eco to cure the plants. You won't be able to get all of the plants in one shot, so you have to keep running through the vent a few times. The more you take out, however, the slower they'll respawn, so you just have to keep driving through them as efficiently as you can.

Purple Pain Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings.
See I Got The Blues.

I Got The Blues Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings.
When you're in the Precursor Basin, you'll see a glowing purple ring as you drive around. Touching it will make a timer start counting down as you see another purple ring appear. You have to drive through all of the rings before the timer runs out. Successfully doing it rewards you with a Power Cell. After, you'll find the blue rings, which is the same concept, but the "race" is more challenging, so you have to be careful and be ready to floor it in some parts, even jump some gaps.

Speedy Fast Beat the Record Time on the Gorge.
The Gambler will challenge you to this when you speak to him in the Rock Village, he's wearing a barrel so he's kind of hard to miss. It's a similar concept to the Precursor Ring missions, but not as challenging. This simply has you go around the course as you try to beat the record time. It's not as hard as it might sound, trust me.

Twist and Shout Defeat the Lurker Ambush.
This ambush in Boggy Swamp is similar to your ambush in Misty Island, but without the threat of cannon-fire. It's nothing you're not used to doing by now, so take 'em out.

Hungry? Protect Farthy's Snacks.
Probably one of the harder challenges, in my opinion, especially in Boggy Swamp, and in general. You use unlimited Yellow Eco to shoot at rats who are trying to snatch the treats in order for Farthy to come back to his Hillbilly buddy. They come in 3 waves, and if they eat even one of those snacks, it's over. This one might take you a few tries, but it obviously goes without saying, if it's closer to the snacks, remove it first. The last wave gets crazy, so you have to keep on your toes and have some good aiming to avoid missing a shot and losing a snack at the last second.

The Lead Zeppelin Break all Four Tethers to the Zeppelin.
First of all, loving the pun on the trophy name. Secondly, as you traverse through Boggy Swamp, you'll have probably already blown up some of the tethers using Yellow Eco. There are 4 in total, and once you blow them all up, this prize is yours.

Zoom Zoom! Reach the End of the Mountain Pass.
This is the same concept as Zoom! so you already know what to expect by now, except this time you have to beat Lurkers to the end of the pass in order to avoid being blown up by bombs at the end of the area, and you need to avoid bombs as you race, so... Just watch out, really. Good luck!

De-Klawwed Defeat Klaww.
After collecting 45 Power Cells in order to reach Klaww, you have to face him. You have to avoid the rocks he throws before you eventually can grab Yellow Eco to attack him as he lifts a boulder, running down a path of Precursor platforms to reach him before running back along it when he drops the boulder. In each phase, he attacks more, and you have less Precursor platforms to freely run on, so be careful of your footing, you wouldn't want to fall in the lava at the last second.

Kerblamm! Destroy the Dark Eco Crystals.
In the Spider Cave, you'll come across large Dark Eco Crystals, with a few in a couple of tricky spots. You can destroy them by any means, but you're better using Yellow Eco to hit them from a distance so the explosion won't hurt you, and potentially drop you into a pit or into Dark Eco. Destroying them all nets you a Power Cell.

It's Dark in Here Survive the Lurker Infested Cave.
Eventually you'll reach a Precursor Robot in one of the caves, looking like it's being excavated. Nearby, namely behind where you enter the room from, is a small cave with Red Eco and a massive amount of Lurkers. You CAN do this without the Red Eco, but because of how many enemies appear and how fast they can move, it's not recommended (I didn't want to wait so I went without the Red Eco. Not my brightest idea but it worked out for me). Reach the end of the cave for the Power Cell.

It's Cold Out Here Stop the 3 Lurker Glacier Troops.
As you travel through Snowy Mountain, you'll locate Lurkers with drilling equipment, namely on top of a makeshift drilling machine. As Daxter will point out to you, you should locate some Red Eco to break their shields, so that you can subsequently kill them. After defeating all 3, the Power Cell is all yours.

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! Reach the End of the Lava Tube.
This is almost identical to Zoom! so you know how to handle your heat levels. But watch out for jumps and thin strips of land to drive on, they can be hard to avoid if you're going too fast or not paying attention. Reach the end, obviously, to grab your Power Cell. You're almost there now!

Set Me Free! Free the Red Sage.
See Set Me Free Already!

No, Set Me Free! Free the Blue Sage.
See Set Me Free Already!

Hey, Set Me Free! Free the Yellow Sage.
See Set Me Free Already!

Set Me Free Already! Free the Green Sage.
As with the previous 3 trophies, you cannot miss this one, as you're required to rescue the 4 Sages in order to reach the top of Gol and Maia's Citadel to face and defeat their Precursor Robot. After freeing all of the Sages, the Robot escapes and you're able to reach the very top of the Citadel for the final battle.

Battle Hardened The Final Battle Against Gol and Maia.
For the most part, you're doing a lot of dodging for the final battle, so be careful of your surroundings and watch out for enemies that appear, and bombs that get thrown at you. Eventually, after destroying the Robot's hands with Yellow Eco, they'll shoot a huge bomb at you, which you will then use a Blue Eco jump pad to escape the blast. After the 3rd time (and watching out as the Dark Eco pool becomes easier to fall into), you'll witness the 4 Eco types come together to make Light Eco. Touch it to enter a final cutscene and finish the game!

Power Lunch Collect 25 Power Cells.
See Maximum Power!

Power Chords Collect 50 Power Cells.
See Maximum Power!

Maximum Power! Collect 101 Power Cells.
Considering that, by the end of the game, you'll have at LEAST 50 or more Power Cells, this isn't too tough. In fact, you're better off hunting for all of the Power Cells while you go to each level. In the event you can't grab each Cell, there's a chance you might need a certain type of Eco Vent opened, but usually you can easily grab the Power Cells without having to go out of your way to do it. And collecting all 101 will allow you to see the secret ending, even though it's a very short cutscene that indirectly leads into Jak II (You wouldn't know that without already playing Jak 1 and Jak II though).

Buzzin' Collect 28 Scout Flies.
See Totally Buzzed Out!

Buzzed Collect 49 Scout Flies.
See Totally Buzzed Out!

Totally Buzzed Out! Collect 112 Scout Flies.
This goes hand-in-hand with the Power Cell trophies, as the 7 Scout Flies in each area equal one Power Cell for the level. Look for the quiet sounds of the Scout Flies and bouncing red and silver boxes for you to destroy.

The Orbist Collect 100 Precursor Orbs.
See The Super Orberator.

The Orberator Collect 1000 Precursor Orbs.
See The Super Orberator.

The Super Orberator Collect 2000 Precursor Orbs.
While the Precursor Orbs aren't required to complete the game, you do need several of them in order to nab all of the Power Cells, namely the 6 from Oracles, and several more from different NPCs in the villages you come across through your adventure. Most are easy to find, you just have to be thorough with your searching. By the end of the game, you should have close to 2000, if not all of them, so just keep looking as best you can.

And that's all for the trophy guide. It's a fairly simple game, and a fairly simple set of trophies. If you've played it on PS2 and remember how to go about doing these challenges, you'll have no problem working it out in the HD version. Good luck, and I'll see you again soon!

*This game took me a total of 17 hours and 18 minutes to complete, from the first trophy to the last. My first trophy was "Open Sez Me" which was achieved on July 1st, 2017 at 11:41 PM. My final trophy was "Maximum Power!" which was achieved on July 2nd, 2017 at 5:00 PM, along with the platinum, "Top of the Heap." This platinum trophy is the 59th platinum trophy I have received.*
