Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Trophy Guide

Welcome to the trophy guide for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep! As this is a Kingdom Hearts game, no story details will be explained, as I'd rather you witness and experience the story for yourselves. We have a lot of work to do so let's go!

*Note that any battle strategies will be as if we're playing as Aqua, as her cartwheel dodge has the most invincibility frames and she has better survivability, in my opinion, but obviously everything can work with all 3 characters.*

Birth by Sleep Master Obtain all trophies.
As always, you know the drill, and you have to get 100% with all 3 characters, so you have a lot of work cut out for you!

Critical Competitor Clear the game on Critical.
Now, I want to make this clear. This means Critical for ALL 5 STORIES. This means Critical as Terra, Ven, and Aqua, then Critical on the Final Episode, AND Critical on the Secret Episode. Now, while you may find this a bit daunting, it's not as hard as it sounds. Grind early on in the first world you're in for each character, even if you want to reach like.. level 7 or something before you do much plot. And as soon as you're able to, meld your commands to obtain Leaf Bracer and Once More, because those will save your life in the long run! Just take your time and remember: Shotlock is your best friend.

The Lost Chapter Complete the secret episode.
Story-related, can't be missed.

The Vessel Complete Terra's story mode.
Story-related, can't be missed.

The Dormant Complete Ventus's story mode.
Story-related, can't be missed.

The Seeker Complete Aqua's story mode.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Connected Hearts Complete the final episode.
Story-related, can't be missed.

A Mere Shell Defeat the Vanitas Remnant.
So I know how much of an annoyance he is, but with Aqua, it's easier than it looks. If you can, get yourself one or two (preferably 2) Mine Seekers. Set them and lead Vanitas to them and he'll take a lot of damage from them. Repeat as necessary and he's done. With Ven and Terra, rely on Mine Square. They won't lock on, but it'll get the job done, as it worked for me.

Time's Teller Defeat the Unknown.
Now this is a cheap strategy, but it worked for me. Make a deck filled with Thunder Surge and Curaga and use Thunder Surge to hit him, as he won't turn back time and recover health that way. That's the strategy. Just make sure you learn his attacks. If you're confused by this method, there are plenty of videos out there about it, which can explain it better than I can.

Darkness's Will Defeat No Heart.
Shotlock. Literally, Shotlock is your bff for this. Have your thumb firmly on the Square button and be ready to dodge constantly until you can Shotlock again. This is generally the strategy I used for all 3 characters. A word of advice: Have every single ability, as they'll all come in handy for this difficult and lengthy battle.

Light's Will Defeat Armor of Eraqus.
You can kind of get away with Shotlock spam here, but have your Curagas ready and maybe some Mine Seekers/Squares just to be safe. Learn his attacks and be ready for anything. Like with No Heart, have every ability if possible. Also note that this, and No Heart, are battles within the Mirage Arena, and so they HAVE to be completed in order to finish the Arena trophies.

Savage Slayer Complete all Unversed battle missions with the highest rank.
In one area in each world, there's an Unversed symbol to engage in a mission. Simply do all of these with the highest ranking to get this. It's not simple, but you can figure it out with trial and error, or you can look up some better strategies like I did.

Profiler Collect all Secret Reports.
Impossible to miss as it is REQUIRED in order to access the Final Episode. These are given to you through the story and are in chests throughout the worlds as your 3 characters, and one resides as a prize in the Mirage Arena. If you beat the final boss without collecting all of the Reports in a character's story, just load the save and find the other pages before fighting the boss again.

Collector Collect all stickers.
These are crown-shaped items in each world. You'll need all of the passive abilities, such as High Jump and Glide and Air Slide, in order to collect them all. After getting them all, you can put them in your sticker book for extra prizes.

The Adventurer: Terra Complete Reports with Terra.
See The Adventurer: Aqua.

The Adventurer: Ventus Complete Reports with Ventus.
See The Adventurer: Aqua.

The Adventurer: Aqua Complete Reports with Aqua.
As you'd expect, simply complete everything in the Reports for all 3 characters, such as learning all abilities, meeting and defeating all enemies and bosses, including optional ones, etc. This will be a long journey for all 3 characters, but not impossible. I believe in you!

Perfect Shot Use Shotlock 50 times.
If you abuse Shotlock like I do, this is impossible to miss. You'll get this in time.

Justice & Dark Use the Pete D-Link 10 times.
You'll be using your D-Links for 100% completion, and probably will be using Mickey's D-Link often since it gives you increased exp gained. To obtain the Pete D-Link, you have to land on a space in a Command Board stage that gets Captain Justice/Dark to appear. It has to be you. And this is another reason you do CB from the world map, as when this happened in the Mirage Arena, nothing happened, so.. yeah. After, use it 10 times and you're golden.

D.J. Use the Rhythm Mixer Command Style 20 times.
By getting a score of 140 in your sticker book, you unlock the Rhythm Mixer Command Style. After you learn how to activate it, you can activate it over and over. Odds are, this will actually happen on its own as you'll end up going to this more than once, especially if you love using the Mine abilities.

The Warrior: Terra Learn all of Terra's Finish Commands.
See The Warrior: Aqua.

The Warrior: Ventus Learn all of Ventus's Finish Commands.
See The Warrior: Aqua.

The Warrior: Aqua Learn all of Aqua's Finish Commands.
After fulfilling criteria on each Finish Command, you unlock new ones. It's not easy for all of them, but some are easy, such as defeating x amount of enemies or collecting x amount of Munny. Unlock them all and you're set. The menu for Finish Commands always has a bar that shows you just how far you are for each one.

Musclehead Unleash Break Time with Terra.
See Majorette.

B-Boy Unleash Break Time with Ventus.
See Majorette.

Majorette Unleash Break Time with Aqua.
Break Time is found in Disney Town on the giant pinball section within the sewers. It's there for all 3 characters. After collecting it, simply equip it to your current deck and use it. Even if you don't successfully hit all of the button presses, you still used it. Easy, huh?

Patissier Create all flavors of ice cream.
Ice cream ingredients are only dropped by the Prize Pod Unversed, which are hidden in specific spots each time you go to a world. You're better off finding a guide about where they're all located. Definitely have a Magnega spell ready to keep them close by because they scatter quickly, wasting precious seconds! After creating every flavor of ice cream at least once, you're all set and good to go.

Command Board Conqueror Win each playable Command Board.
Go to the Command Board from the World Menu! Because this is how you get a couple of other things necessary for 100% completion! Simply win on each playable board and you're good to go. Note, you can have one opponent if you want a somewhat easier time through each board. This game plays extremely similarly to Fortune Street, so if you're good with that, you're ready to go.

Maestro Obtain a Fantastic rating for each song in Ice Cream Beat Master Mode.
If rhythm-based minigames are your thing, this is right up your alley. Just take your time and learn the timing for everything and you'll be set before you know it. Ven does this minigame during his trip through Disney Town, so that's the mandatory practice for you.

Rapid Racer Finish first in all Rumble Racing courses.
You are required to do Rumble Racing during Terra's visit to Disney Town, but this is the most fun of the 3 minigames, in my opinion. Learn the shortcuts and you'll be more than set for this, especially in the last course!

Fantasista Beat all opponents in Fruitball.
Fruitball is a minigame in Disney Town. If you're a bit unsure about how it goes, you play this minigame while you play in Aqua's story, so you can have a good first experience with it. Note that you have to do this for each character for the 100% stuff.

The Journey Begins Clear the prologue, "The Land of Departure."
Story-related, can't be missed.

Pursuit of Truth Clear the Mysterious Tower episode of Terra's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Defying Darkness Clear the Disney Town episode of Terra's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Entrusting Power Clear the Destiny Islands episode of Terra's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Encounters Clear the Badlands episode of Ventus's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

A Moment of Rest Clear the Disney Town episode of Ventus's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

A Friend in Need Clear the Mysterious Tower episode of Ventus's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Drifting Apart Clear the Radiant Garden episode of Aqua's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Hopeful Hearts Clear the Destiny Islands episode of Aqua's story.
Story-related, can't be missed.

Pawn of the Arena Complete all one-star missions in the Mirage Arena.
See King of the Arena.

Knight of the Arena Complete all two-star missions in the Mirage Arena.
See King of the Arena.

Queen of the Arena Complete all three-star missions in the Mirage Arena.
See King of the Arena.

King of the Arena Complete all four-star missions in the Mirage Arena.
Definitely get stronger and wait until you've beaten the game and optional bosses, so that you have some better Keyblades and have more abilities for the Arena. If you can get some high-level Shotlocks, you'll be ready for anything, especially ones that have multi-hit potential, like Aqua's Prism Rain. Seriously, watch how fast those health bars drop.

Keepers of the Arena Win the Keepers of the Arena battle in the Mirage Arena.
See King of the Arena.

Villains' Vendetta Win the Villains' Vendetta battle in the Mirage Arena.
See King of the Arena.

And that's all for the trophy guide for Birth by Sleep! It takes a while to get the platinum but if you can get 100% with one character, you can do it with everyone! Just keep working and you can do it!

*This game took me a total of 8 months and 2 weeks to finish, including a hiatus so I wasn't playing through the entire game again on Critical, from the first trophy to the platinum. My first trophy was "The Journey Begins" which was achieved on March 7th, 2015 at 3:27 AM. My final trophy was "Critical Competitor" which was achieved on November 19th, 2015 at 9:17 PM, along with the platinum, "Birth by Sleep Master." This platinum trophy is the 26th platinum trophy I have received.*

Have a nice day!~
