Okami HD Trophy Guide

Welcome to the trophy guide for Okami HD! This one may seem a little bit.. lacking, but that's only because I don't want to talk about important story or plot elements in these trophies, that's why most story trophies have no description. This truly is a wonderful game and it's way better if you discover the story for yourselves and have a ton of fun with it. But anyway, let's rock, baby!

Grab Life by the Leash Increase your Solar Energy, Ink Pot, and Astral Pouch levels to maximum capacity.
If you do everything you can do get more praise whenever possible, this won't be super hard by any means. The flavor texts forgets to mention that your coin purse also needs to be maxed out. Otherwise this trophy is pretty simple, all things considered.

No More Fish in the Sea Complete your Fish Tome.
Simply catch every fish at least once to get this trophy. The four places you can fish are . Agata Forest, Sei-an City, North Ryoshima Coast, and Kamui.

Have Guides Will Travel Complete your Travel Guide.
These are given to you for the most part, mainly after collecting your Celestial Powers. Some, of course, you have to buy, but mainly they're simply given to you and if you love exploring, you'll come across all of them in no time flat.

Give a Dog All the Bones Complete your Treasure Tome.
If you do a lot of exploring, this will come in time. Nothing is missable and there are plenty of copies of each treasure in the game, mainly in chests. There are a few unique ones that only have one copy, but it's nothing time sensitive.

Sniff 'Em Out Defeated all monsters on the Wanted List.
Different characters will assign you wanted lists for a certain array of demons, specially marked with arrows. You can only find these monsters in Demon Scrolls at night, and once you defeat them, you cross their names off the list to show your progress. Complete each wanted list to earn this trophy.

Leave No Chest Unopened Collect all Stray Beads.
I won't even try to list all the locations. All are not missable except the first one in the first area where you learn Rejuvenation and Power Slash. Otherwise, plenty of handy guides out there better than what I could do.

All Creatures Great and Small Complete your Animal Tome.
Once you feed every type of animal at least once, this trophy is yours. If you're working on gaining praise for your upgrades, this will come to you naturally in time.

Teach an Old Dog New Tricks Learn all god techniques to fill up your Technique Scroll.
This comes from the dojos in different areas of Nippon, namely Shinshu Field, Ryoshima Coast, and Kamui. These can be gotten whenever you want, save for the double jump, but everything has a purpose and will improve your battle prowess greatly. In total, expect to drop around 2.5 million yen for everything.

From Imps to Demons Complete your Bestiary.
This one isn't bad if you actively hunt down Demon Scrolls. There are only two enemies truly missable, as everything else can be done through normal play. They are:
Fire Doom Mirror, in the Emporer's room. Look for scrolls on the floor before you try to enter the Emperor to fight Blight.
Clay Flyer, when you start battling Clay enemies. Hunt around the area until you find the Clay Flyer or you lost your chance for it.

Barking Up the Cherry Tree Earn a Cherry Tree rank for each item in the Total Results screen.
This one isn't too bad, honestly. It's a matter of doing as much as you can before beating the game, as the Total Results screen comes at the very end. As there's no way to have a track on these, you may have to go out of your way if you're unsure about your progress. Here are the following things you have to have, minimum, to get this trophy:
Deaths: Less than 5
Praise Earned: 4500 or more
Enemies Defeated: 550 or more
Demon Fangs: 300 or more
Money Gained: 4,000,000 yen or more
Note that this is, of course, all cumulative, but just stockpile on that yen just to be safe, and maybe some Demon Fangs as well. As for deaths, it's not too bad. If the Astral Pouch revives you, it is NOT a death, so don't worry too much. Just be careful and have fun.

Lupine and Divine Earn a Cherry Tree rank for each item in the Results screen.
Super simple, just finish a battle quickly without taking damage, and this is yours. You can always fight weaker enemies later on if this is giving you trouble. As long as Time and Damage has a cherry tree, you're golden.

Out of the Gate Swinging Defeat all enemies at all three Devil Gate trial caves.
You'll find these in Ryoshima Coast, North Ryoshima Coast, and Kamui. When you enter a Devil Gate for the first time, you have to face a Bandit Spider, which fights exactly like the Spider Queen. Be prepared for a long amount of enemies and challenges and have a lot of items on hand, as well as your best weapons. The one in Kamui, especially, is very difficult.

Who Let the Dogs Out? Defeat the Kusa 5.
After finishing Oni Island, you can return to the Gale Shrine to face these powerful dogs. Despite it only saying the Kusa 5, you face all 8 Canine Warriors so be careful! If you can handle tough enemies, like from the Devil Gates, you can handle these dogs with ease.

Dog Eat Dog Beat Hayabusa's turnip-digging record.
This is technically story related but it can be done as soon as you restore Kamiki Village. Simply dig up all 10 turnips without the woman smacking you. She does have a tiny delay before she swings, so just keep an eye on her. May take you a try or two but it's pretty simple.

Diggin' It Complete five digging mini games.
3 of these are story related and two aren't, but the two aren't extremely out of your way so it's not like you're going to be going on a super long vacation trying to find them. After you complete the 5, the trophy is yours.

Eat My Flower Trail Win the race against Ida and Hayate.
In Shinshu Field and Ryoshima Coast you'll see these postmen running around in a route. After racing and beating them 3 times, this trophy is yours.

Dog Gone Fast Win the race against Kai.
After you complete the Wawku Shrine, the last dungeon in the game before the Ark, you canreturn to the entrance of Yoshpet and have a true race aagainst Kai. She's no pushover but if you know your way through Yoshpet, this trophy is as good as yours. Just be careful!

And that's it for the trophy guide! Not a super difficult platinum, by any means. There are several trophies that take time, but you can still easily enjoy the game with zero time limits for trophies, save for a very small amount of missable stuff. But I hope you have fun with this beautiful game, and as always, thanks for reading, and I will see you later! :D

*This game took me a total of 5 days and 15 hours to finish, from my first trophy to the platinum. My first trophy was "Yomigami" which was achieved on December 8th, 2015 at 4:26 AM. My final trophy was "Leave No Chest Unopened" which was received on December 13th, 2015 at 6:38 PM, along with the platinum, "Top Dog." This platinum trophy is the 30th platinum trophy I have received.*
