Happy Halloween!

So it's Halloween today. I don't go out trick or treating anymore, just because I'm just not into it anymore, really. Not only that, but the area I'm in feels kind of dead, there's hardly anyone out anymore, and if there are other kids out, they're in a pack with a chaperone, and there's maybe... 1 or 2 packs, that I can tell. Like, I hear the kids giggling and all, but still. If more kids were out at night, well, I'd love to just sit and give out candy, I sure wouldn't mind. Maybe one day, but that day is not today.

So, yeah, today won't have a gaming post, but rather just some general Halloween advice, mainly for the young ones, as sometimes you can't ever be too careful anymore. And even if some of these things seem redundant or seem like a "Well, no duh!" kind of thing, it's still something, you know? Anyways, let's begin.

- This might be the most redundant of the bunch, but definitely dress warmly with your costumes, even if it means having a layer underneath your costume. If your costume is already nice and warm, then you're good. But if not, try to get a layer on underneath, because no kid wants to have a cold the day after Halloween, when they're already going to have tummy aches from all the candy they're going to have.

- Always be sure that your kid is under the watchful eye of a trusted guardian or parent. Nobody can stress that enough because these days, kids just get taken off the street, even in broad daylight! If you have a small group of kids, definitely make sure you keep an eye on them, especially if you end up being the chaperone. Bringing a flashlight is a good tactic to do, and some people give out glow sticks as well, so your kid can hold them and, at least in some small way, you can keep an eye on them as you can see the light from the stick, until it burns out a few hours later, usually. But you're not going to be out all night long, as eventually you have to bring the kids home.

- Make sure you check the candy before they start chowing down on it, because, of course, you can't ever be too careful. If something isn't wrapped, toss it away, that's what I was always told. And of course, just be careful of any dangerous objects, because although it may seem unlikely, there's always a chance that some dangerous object was placed in there, accidentally or not.

- This doesn't need to be said, really, but generally have a route planned out. A nice walk around the neighborhood is fine, especially if you know where you're going. Obviously, though, don't go too far from your route because once you get too deep into unfamiliar territory, it's going to be a pretty long walk home, and some neighborhoods are dangerous, as well.

- And I guess the most important thing to do is have fun. If you're a parent reading this, or a chaperone/guardian/babysitter/etc., just be sure to keep an eye on the kids and make sure they listen to you, because you don't need them running off or getting into trouble, or, heaven forbid, harmed in any way. And if you're a kid reading this - which seems pretty unlikely, but you never know - please make sure you listen to whomever you're exploring with, be it your parents or chaperone. Stay with them and don't go running off. I know you want to have fun, and that's fine, but your safety is WAY more important than blindly having fun, especially when walking at night.

Besides that, I hope all of you have a wonderful Halloween and I hope you have a great day. Remember that the trophy guide for Rune Factory is going up this Thursday, November 3rd. I have to make sure I get it up asap, since my sister and my niece, and I think my mom as well, are going to be stopping by, so it's going to be a pretty busy and tiring day. But enough about that, I will see you later! :D
